I can't believe how long this has been! So long that I'd forgotten my password! So what's been happening? I've been to the pics loads and now always walk in with my walker and sit on a cinema seat! The worst film I've seen is 'The Death of Stalin' which was billed as a comedy not to miss and with Paul Whitehouse and Michael Palin in it looked like it would be very funny! But honestly it was rubbish I thought the best character in it was the man who played the commander of the russian army!
Last thursday I had a LOvely day out in York with my 2 friends from down south. We had a great time and a gorgeous lunch, as always, in Betty's! We had a very mixed shopping experience in York. Accessibility for scooters and wheelchairs in the City around all streets of the new shopping streets, but in the old streets it can be tricky as the pavements are not very wide. Getting into Crabtree and was a laugh! The pavement was narrow, they had a ramp to get up their step but from the pavement it was impossible as there was no room to turn the wheelchair onto the ramp! Thank goodness for the passers by , particularly the man who managed to lift the front of the wheelchair onto the ramp. It meant I had to buy something after all that effort lol! Browns was a bit disappointing too, not so much the fact the disabled toilet was out of action but the attitude of the staff. There was a lift to access the upper floors but it was so small and there was lip to get over. There are ramps to access the split levels on the diferent floors. I must say the ramp on the ground floor is long and steep, we had a run at it and still needed an extra person to help plus I was pulling on the handrail. Now Marks and Spencers was soooo different, maybe cos its a new shop, but the attitude of the staf was so much better and more helpful. The lift was big and square with plenty of room.
